I will soon be moving into an appartment in Lausanne and am looking at the different option that are available for the internet connection.
If I want to have cable internet I have to do this via Citycable (Cablecom is not available in my house). The other option is to take a phoneline and ADSL, however I do need the phoneline. My question now is if anyone has any experience with Citycable and its performance. i have not been able to find anything on the web.
one of my friends has taken a city cable connection.
He seems to be happy with it. The only problem he says is they take a long time to give you the connection. But it might depend from building to building.
as the guy in the office explained to me, 2 months ago you'll get it in one weeks time...one, with all the student and new movers in town, it is a long list...that's why it takes 2 weeks
Get city cable. I have their cityprime and it runs like a dream. I play xbox online and download tv at the same time with no lag on either. It is cheaper than adsl too when you factor in that you cant get adsl without a phoneline.
Anytime you can avoid paying money to Swisscom, you should do it!
And these f...ers do not tell you that in advance, in 1 year you just get a 300fr. invoice for "CityTV abonement"! Nice, isn't?
Went there to complain, said that I do not have the TV, they replied that a sales person should have disclosed. But it is not in the application you sign, and not in their General T&C.
Internet Access can not be dissociated from Access to Telereseau which cost is not included in Internet package. blabla cr@p
Yes of course, it's well hiden. That's why you need to carefully read all contract before accepting them. Especially in Switzerland as my little experience showed they tried to make you pay lot of crap, always. Of course, as citizen are sheep and never complain.
You had no choice anyway, if you wanted internet with them, you MUST have paid that tv crap.
Ho don't complain, it's Switzerland, you should be happy to pay lot of unwanted cr@p and be quiet. At least that's what I heard.
Ps: you'll be happy to know, if you read the "charges" for your building/flat, that you already pay for "raccordement to the cable TV"... Plus that plus billag.
I still think that to charge 26 francs for TV they have to disclose and get the acceptance of the charges. Otherwise, they can easily charge 260 per month, are you going to eat that?
Anyway, nobody is going to sue them for 300 francs.
All these issues and general expensive everything is because There is lack of competition in many areas in Switzerland!
But as long and the pay is ok and taxes are fine, I don't care.
