Hi everyone! I am from the Philippines. I have a Swiss boyfriend living and working in Zurich. We have been "on a relationship" for 7 years now. I would like to inquire if a same-sex partnership/union is possible between a Swiss national and an Asian, in my case, a Filipino? If so, what would be the process or the guidelines we need to take? If in the event we decided to marry/register in the UK, will that be recognized by the Swiss government? If we got partnered/registered in UK, do we have to apply for registration as well in Zurich or only for recognition? Also, in the event my partner decided that we will have our civil partnership ceremony and registration in Switzerland, what would be the process and what are the things needed to take into account? What will be the requirements on my end? What type of visa will I have to apply for? I am also looking into studying in the UK once we got married/registered in Switzerland. Will studying in the UK after getting registered in Switzerland complicate my status or will be a difficult climb? Any advice or insights greatly appreciated.
Welcome to the forum.
Too many questions
What did your partner, as a Swiss in CH, say after doing his research with his Gemeinde ( parish ) and Immigration officials ?

Thank you for your quick reply. We just finished talking awhile ago and he is yet to make a research about it on his end.
I will be reading the links you posted.
You didn't mention a key issue: where are you now? If you are in Switzerland with a permit which expires in more than 3 months, then your partnership registration will be fairly simple. You will need a certificate issued by your home country (and any country where you have spent significant time) saying that you are allowed to marry legally and you are not married. Probably this certificate has to be "stamped" by the Swiss authority first. If you don't have a Swiss permit now then it is a little complicated, you should refer to the numerous threads talking about the Swiss visa for marriage.
And why you want to register in UK? You can register only if at least one of you or your partner already have a valid UK residence. If you are just planning to move there, then it is far more easier if you register in Switzerland first and then get recognized in UK, rather than the reverse.
