Classical dressage

Hi all,

I'm posting this one on behalf of my wife; I did a thread search but came up with nothing.

Is there anyone else on this board interested in Classical Dressage? If so, do you know what resources exist in and around the Zurich area for continued education?

For those who don't know what the differences are between this and Classical Dressage, here is the Wikipedia link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Classical_dressage

Thanks in advance.

Have you moved from Sweden then? I looked at your location and presumed I couldn't help

Thanks for your reply.

We're still in Sweden, but the plans to relocate to Zurich are in place.

I just wanted to establish (in advance) some activities/resources so that my wife is a step ahead when she arrives.

Jay

I stole this from another thread.

It's not Zürich and it's probably not dressage but it is Sunday morning.

Check out the website of the Fédération Suisse des Sports Equestres:

http://www.fnch.ch/ in French or German.

They have a section there on dressage and links, too.

You might also ask the Swedish Dressage Federation or whatever it is called (equivalent to British Dressage in UK) - they will surely be able to point you in the right direction.

I used to ride at the Reitschule Kolbenhof, which is about 15 mins from Paradeplatz, up Geishubelstr (that direction).

They speak German, but the instruction can be very good and they do dressage competitions. The head of the school is apparently quite well known. Its quite moderately priced and the horses are fit and in good condition.

Do check it out; they also have a website.

Good luck!

Found this on google:

you need to look for klassische dressur on google.

It takes me around 17mins to run up there from Paradeplatz - so I presume you mean by car or public transport.

I ride dressage here http://www.haron.ch/trainingkurse with Francoise. I moved here from the US in 2008. I will send PM with my contact info as I would love to meet another english speaking 'horsie' person.

you might want to check with the search term 'akademische reitkunst' or 'akademisches reiten' (this is assuming you mean the style of Bent Banderup), not many riding schools around Zurich unfortunately, but there are a few teachers who will come by if you have your own horse.

Yes, Bent Branderup. My wife has taken several courses with him.

Hello

I am very interested. I am a very experienced rider (A grade show jumper and Medium E dressage rider). I recently relocated to Geneva for work and miss horses terribly. I would love to come riding on weekends and if work permits once in the week.

Please let me know.
