Cold caller Insurance with my name and town threatens me

Dear Readers,

This might be the next level of telemarketing. Not sure if you have experienced it.

I was minding my business and a gentleman called me on my mobile and started telling me if received some deduction notice. I said no and maybe and he started to threaten me to notify someone (not so perfect english) about something.

I said to him, you have no authority to do anything and hung up as I had to go to another call. Any idea what this is?

Thanks

Deepak

Yes. It's a scam.

It's an incredibly lucrative deal (for the insurance salesman) where you will get thoroughly screwed and abused.

Put the phone down, they'll move on to the next pigeon on the list until one bites

Thanks both! I wrote a note to my health insurance contact that I am not changing my insurance no matter what.

Ooh.. I would never do that. The health insurance can now claim millions in deductions and you will still be with them. Win win for them

Hey got a call similar to this. But, basically it's just freelancers that try to sell your something more expensive that what you have today, so a SCAM. They're quite active until Nov 30 which the deadline to change health insurance.

Well, the caller claimed to call from Assura and fooled around with my bad German. I wasted like 10 minutes of his time while I was answering job emails. In the end I did not understand exactly what the guy was telling and asked to be sent the offer by via the e-assura.ch website.

Of course, I have not received anything. The caller was not working for Assura.
