Confirmation of registration canton Zug

Hello! I have just moved to Zug and was told by my relocation/immigration consultant that they've registered me to the municipality, but that cannot provide any written proof of such registration.

Because of many reasons I really need at least a piece of paper simply saying that I'm registered in Zug since date x, and as I always got that straight away in pretty much any country I previously lived in I'm really wondering what's the complication.

As the B permit will take weeks to arrive, I practically have nothing at hand that certifies I've actually moved here. Is that normal?!

Thanks

Every community seems to run its own rules. Take your passport and all other paperwork you have to your Gemeindehaus - town/city hall, and tell them your story...

The complication is being square

You asked for proof of registration and it may not be possible because the registration/permit process takes weeks/months. But, it may be possible to get a certificate of residence (Wohnsitzbescheinigung) which contains place of residence and the start date. Try to get this one directly from the gemeinde.

Registration in Canton Zug can be done by mail. All they did was mailing a letter with the needed supporting document, hence no confirmation.

You should be able to get a "Wohnsitzbestätigung" from your communes Residency Office (Einwohnerkontrolle). Usually costs CHF 20.
