Conflict in buying car (contract)

FWIW I paid CHF 700 to extend the manufacturer's warranty on our Subaru for two years. But if you now have *no* warranty, then the situation is slightly different.

I would also consider claiming on the seller's liability insurance. When I first moved to Switzerland many years ago, I bought via a private sale and was (understandably) concerned what would happen if something went wrong with it and the advice was to claim on the seller's liability insurance in that case.

But if you have legal insurance, they will be able to advise on your best approach.

Not in the least, it was the price requested by the dealer
