Could he return to Switzerland? Since he has been on the run before, it wouldn't be a surprise if he does so again while out on licence. Bet he'll return to his old ways before too long.

Unfortunately nobody cares, more's the pity. The money is hidden somewhere, or has been given to family and friends to hold. A forensic accountant and fraudulent conveyance law (action paulienne, in Civil Law countries) might get some of it back.
He will only stop when some victim, or family member of a victim, tops him.
Thank you very much for posting all of this, especially the video link. Just watched it.
Well, ladies, let's not fall in love with charismatic English guys from now on.
Or maybe the thread should become a sticky, so we can check the picture before we do.
Surprised he chose the silver coast. Would have expected him to chose a house-number between Tina Turner and Chrisoph Blocher.
I would image he is on Schengen’s watch list. That may not be perfect, but it’s certainly a lot better than people think it is.
One of these psychopaths tried it on with a member of my family...stories of the Foreign Legion, proper accent (and I was schooled there, but he sounded believable), daring-do as a spy, etc. He backed off when I started asking questions he could not answer. These people are fascinating, reptilian, and frightening. Of course he will go back to doing the only thing he knows...there's no one in that shell.
I had spuriously suggested shooting a neighbour to conclude a pointless argument in another thread. You, however, come across as a veteran jurist
He's far from the only one.
Whether he gets stopped or not doesn't really make a difference overall.
Mark Acklom: Serial conman who tricked his lover out of nearly £1m agrees to be extradited to Spain Thread started in 2011 and kept going since by "Charlie's Angel", whom Martin Brunt met in the above Sky documentary, and who has apparently been doing a lot of digging regarding Acklom's activities:
https://antifraudintl.org/threads/ro....47770/page-18
Looks as if he could be out of a Spanish jail and back to conning people in October 2023.

(estafador, defraudador, fraude, estafa, engaño, timador, timo)
(con artist, conman, fraud, fraudster, swindler)
It’s a shame Credit Suisse has now gone down the tube, he would have been a prime candidate for a senior management role.
Their risk management was badly in need of somebody of his calibre:
" Takes one to know one "
Related Facebook group (viewable without a Facebook account) referring to Acklom associates, with the one in the title said to have been active in Switzerland and to possibly be going by a different name.
Includes a link to this Tagesanzeiger article: So perfide ging der meistgesuchte Betrüger Englands vor
Behind a paywall, but a search for the name in the title of the Facebook group plus Acklom produces the article as one of the results, with a snippet from it saying " Es handelt sich mutmasslich um Ackloms Komplizen J--- B--------, der seit Jahren mit ihm ..." (This is presumed to be Acklom's accomplice J--- B--------, who has ... with him for years).
Edit: Full English version of that article. (Missing part of above sentence is "worked with him for years".)
I was wrong about October. He's already out of jail (perhaps released early, if a Spanish court official was saying in 2021 that his Spanish prison term would last until October 2023). Whereabouts unclear, but his wife and children apparently live in Spain (currently).
10 August 2023: Serial fraudster Mark Acklom freed from Spanish jail, court told
[Victim of serial fraudster Mark Acklom demands £750k back from bank he used [Barclays]](https://news.sky.com/story/victim-of-serial-fraudster-mark-acklom-demands-750k-back-from-bank-he-used-12957531)
(Yahoo News, Feb 2024) Mark Acklom: Carolyn Woods, victim of serial fraudster, will not get any of stolen £750,000 back from [Barclays] bank
There’s apparently a proceeds of crime case ongoing in the UK to see if money Acklom stole from Carolyn Woods, presumably only the £300,000 he pleaded guilty to stealing (of the £850,000 total), can be seized from him but it has been delayed to at least December 2024.
(BBC May 2024) Spy scam victim: ‘I’ll never get my £850k back’
Now that he’s been out of jail a year, wonder where he is, what aliases he’s using and who he’s been scamming. Also wonder how many of his past victims, whether “romantic” or “business”, are still in the dark about him because they never knew his real name (or maybe never even met him, just talked on the phone, like the Swiss victim interviewed in the video).
Video missing from first post:
conman, con artist, swindler, scammer, thief, scam, con
estafador, timador, ladrón, estafa, timo
These days, he could make legal money just running an Instagram/Patreon/TikTok scheme teaching others how to con women (or men, let’s be honest…) into “lending” them a few bucks…
No doubt he could, but I suspect that, doing that, he’d miss out on the thrill of conning people, and conning them out of vast sums. In the interview below (more here), Carolyn Woods says, when asked how Acklom managed to keep up a double/triple life, that he needs a buzz all the time.
