Hi All,

I wanted to know the best places to buy electronic stuff like iPad / Macbook / Camera / Mobile Phones etc. Also is their any particular period when the products are offered very cheap (e.g. black Friday in US)

Although their is a similar thread existing in this topic, the last update their was in 2011, hence thought of opening a new thread.

Recommend you consult www.toppreise.ch which is a price comparison site for electronics in Switzerland. Not all stores are on there, mainly on-line stores, but it's in any case a good place to start.

Make sure you don't have a 'Keine Werbung' on your letter box and check out the ad. mags., as often there is not just once source, and the bargains are spread around.

They show up on toppreise.ch though, usually.

interdiscount often has days with 10% off everything (incl. Apple stuff) or only select brands/item groups.

Special deals on Apple gear (also seen at microspot.ch, digitec and others) often means that there will be product refresh soon.

If you're looking for a good deal, then a good idea is to determine exactly what you are looking for, model, size, version, memory ... and then keep an eye on www.toppreise.ch

Why, you will often see that the stores will shift older models at some very good prices, but there may not be many available, so by already knowing what model you're after you can buy fast.

Manor had a big discount on HP laptops last year, this was the cheapest around at the time, but my daughter wanted the hi-res screen. Found a model with 1920 screen a couple of weeks later from Steg for even less.

Unless you need it now, then get ready, and wait for the best price.

Interdiscount release a brochure every Monday - Some good deals go on there, besides the occasional 10% off days.

I've often strolled by Mediamarkt in Sihlcity where they have few bins of items on good sale. Around the time of new Apple releases, I've managed to get the older versions really cheap. Their Sonntag Shopping offers is something to keep an eye out for as well.

Microspot have a deal a day much like digitec - I got my TV from there earlier this year.

I'm surprised that no-one's mentioned Digitec or Galaxus by now.

Both shops (they're essentially the same company) have a daily deal, but the prices are otherwise as low as I can find anywhere.

The only downside is that their shops are pretty much in the German part of the country.

EDIT: Just noticed that svikram84 mentioned Digitec at the end if his post.

for PC components, pc-ostschweiz.ch is pretty unbeatable too.

Haven't checked prices for systems and consumer electronics, but I was shopping around for a PC upgrade, and they always come up the cheapest after searching aroung in Toppreise
