Thanks!
We are moving back to CH in the new year. I have a couple of baking sheets that are approx. 41 x 36,5 cm. Will they fit ok in the average oven? I just remember my CH oven was smaller (surprise! ), but can't remember just how much.
I went and measured the standard ones that came with my ofen (V-Zug): 43x37.
You can use yours putting them on the "whatchama call it" (see linked picture).
It's not the depth that's the problem but the width. My largest cookie sheet is 43 cm long and just fits in the width of our oven. It sits on top of the oven rack, which I assume is what curley means with "whatchama call it"
Got 3 ovens, 2 have a usable width of 43, and 1 x 42 !
Exactly, the watchama call it on the picture. Oven rack, goody. Thanks.
Last time I wad on vacation in USA I bought a nice new baking sheet only to find it did not fit when I brought it back here. So you are correct to be concerned. I ended up giving it to a friend who has a place in France where the oven size is bigger. On the other hand I have some 20+yeat old baking sheets from my grandmother that work fine. I think the US standard ones have increased in the last 20 years. So if yours are older ones they could be fine.
