What is really broken and worse than before is switching between several lists on the website.
(The phone app works differently than the website .... don't know why they didn't keep the functionality uniform)
I try not to get too many or very complicated lists but I must have several for various reasons.
Before you got a list of your lists and you could choose which of your lists you want to work with ... clean, simple, clear, obvious, straightforward.
If you wanted to add a product to the list, you would click the + list icon and you would get a checklist of the your list where you could easily select the list you want the product added to.
Now, it just assumes you are using the last list of your several lists that you previously used. (Of course you don't remember which list was last opened the last time you used the website several weeks ago or you can't tell /doesn't easily show which list it currently things you are using).
Then when you add an item, it just adds it to the last used list by flashing a box at the bottom of the screen showing the list added along with a "change list" link, which of course disappears quickly before you can react to change where the product is saved to.
Then you decide to click on "change lists" which brings up a too-small pop up box in a random order (no longer a full screen showing you all your lists in a sorted order) where you scroll through the too-small window to click on the list you want.
When you click on a list, absolutely nothing happens and there is no feedback whatsoever. there is no "select" button, the item you clicked on does not respond, it does not show a selected color or outline in any way, the pop up box just sits there as if you did nothing.
Most people would quit there thinking it just doesn't work. However, if you refresh the whole screen, then it will bring up the list that you wanted to switch to (or actually the list you wanted to save to and work with all along without the convoluted way of saving to the list you wanted).
All of this is a redesign from a perfectly good system that use to work well, simply and intuitively.
And of course this whole convoluted process is very slow at every step.
At this point it is better to jump to the phone app which shows you your list of lists in a better way.
I could go on and on about all the functionality now that is broken or removed or worse off then it was before.
How can one of the biggest super market chains of one of the richest countries of the world release functionality used by their most regular customers that basically doesn't work?
Seems like they'd get better at this after all the online ordering during the pandemic.
I used to work in IT doing calculations of how much actual money is lost by delaying people's ability to easily buy from them.
Seems they would want to help people who buy lots of them on a very regular basis to easily buy all they can regularly from them.
Thanks for letting me vent.
