I am dying for a proper corned beef dinner, with mustard, potatoes and cooked cabbage, yum...and corned beef on rye sandwiches...corned beef hash for breakfast...can you buy it in Switzerland? If yes, what is it called in German and where can I find it? Anyone know?
Sorry no idea but I would like to thank you for reminding me of corned beef hash. Oh what would I do for a plate of that now! I also recommend fried potatoes and corned beef with tomato ketchup as a sandwich in Mother's Pride bread (yes - the health issues of this betray the fact that I am from Glasgow...)

Migros sell this - 3.90chf a tin
Yep you can also get it from coop. I made a good old corned beef ash the other night.... yummy!!!
Has anyone happen to see the whole slab of corned beef around? Pastrami would also be cool to find.
On offer by guess who until 20th October...
It is called "Corned Beef". Had some last night. It goes well mixed in with Roesti, and some Heinz ketchup - quick and easy for a rainy night
Corned beef?
Shouldn't this be in the food neuroses thread??? Urgh!!!!!
Yoo hoo! But those folks cut is soooo thin. I'll have to stack it up for effect. Thx.
? Is it the capital letter for Beef that makes the difference?
No chance of a bit of real corned beef by any chance? Not tinned cat food style?
I buy it in the migros, i love Corn Beef Ash, i love it with HP Brown Sauce
Would love to be able to cook corned beef and cabbage for St. Patrick's Day, but have not found a place that sells the brisket. Did anyone else have any luck finding the real thing?? I'm not interested in tinned meat.
ps: Happy St. Pattie's Day!
Have you tried "The Brit Shop" online?
There is a place in Zug, "Frankys Cheese and More" that sells the real stuff if your in the area.
I like corned beef so much, that it just might be worth a trip to Zug! Thanks for your help. Although mentioning the British Shop did remind me that I've been wanting some Digetives - doh!
Most of the larger coops carry digestives, I forget what brand though.
Cornedbeef fritters, on the menue tonight.
I had no idea you could get corned beef out here, I miss it!! Corned beef sandwich with Branston Pickle... AWESOME!
I'll be scouring Migros in Zug next week, unless anyone can give me directions as to where it is in there??
Toot toot!
In the Coop it's in the tinned fish and meat section.
Figures - I avoid our Coop because the parking is so bad. I did find some in Carrefour, but they were the chocolate coated ones.
So I settled for gingernuts instead. Love them with tea.
