Cost effective services for internet

Hi everyone,

I’m currently looking for a new internet provider and would love to hear your recommendations for cost-effective services. I’m looking for a reliable connection, but I’d also like to keep my monthly costs down as much as possible.

If anyone has had a positive experience with an affordable provider, or knows of any current deals or packages that offer good value for money, I’d really appreciate your suggestions!

Thanks so much in advance for your help!

Wingo. Budget version of swisscom, they have good offers from time to time

We use Net+.

M-Budget also currently has an offer that is better than Wingo. They are also Swisscom rebranded…

I use digital republic to work from home since a year ago via a 5G modem.

The first year was a modem + 300 mbps bundle for 500 francs or so.

I’m on the second year and trying the 50 mbps at 20 CHF/month. It works well videocalls and working on documents somewhere on the cloud. Also for watching movies, youtube, music, no issues at all.

FOr my work, I see progress bars during the transfer of files >50MB or accessing databases for a time longer than my patience, it really breaks the workflow. So, I think I return to 300 mbps at 30 CHF/month at the end of this month.

2000 mbps was overkill, I saw no performance difference between this and 300 mbps. The bottleneck was probably on the servers at my job.

So, it all depends on what you use the internet for.

PS. I remembered my wife has some free days, so we had 2 computers using the same 50 mbps bandwidth. That may be the issue. With 1 computer, 50 mbps was OK.

Exactly, If you don´t do heavy gaming/streaming you can also look at a cell phone provider that allows for a hot spot. I use that for work and have no issues at all.
