Also the canned pureed pumpkin for making pies and other Thanksgiving type of dishes. I know I could buy a whole pumpkin but I think it's too big and usually wasteful.
Anyone know where to buy these things?

So far as canned pumpkin goes, I'd check at Aldi and stores like that OR perhaps since Coop has been "upping" their variety of foods from UK, maybe they'll be getting some pureed pumpkin in as well.
Meanwhile, I know I've seen cooking pumpkins a variety of ways in both Coop and Migros, if I remember right also in Manor. Coop has some cut into chunks in the packaged salad / refrigerated fresh herb section of at least one of the stores near me. Migros and Coop both tend to have pumpkin "slices" in various sizes, perfect for baking just a bit to puree yourself for some soup or pie.
If you make cranberry relish from a mix of fresh and canned, as some do, I've found mixing fresh cranberries with the lingonberry jam from Ikea works in a pinch... if you don't mind Ikea invading even this aspect of your life!
As for pumpkins... there are loads of pumpkins everywhere. Right off the highway between Bern and Lausanne, there is a huge pumpkin stand - I think it's the Neuchatel exit. But you can also get pumpkins in the markets and in Coop and Migros. The orange pumpkins that look like a big onion or if you can find a kobucha (big green and grey), or a delicia pumpkin, those have the most dense, sweet flesh.
I roast the pumpkin, remove the skin, puree it, and then, if it looks thin, cook it down at a slow temperature with cinnamon, ginger, cloves, nutmeg, mace, vanilla, a little salt and sugar - if I'm going to use it for pie.
You can also buy cans of pumpkin puree in globus and I thought I saw it in coop, maybe in Bern. But it costs as much as a big old pumpkin sometimes. Plus, my dog loves pumpkin so she always get a a little too.
BTW I did do a forum search but got 0 results. Somehow the search function is not very useful?

As for pumpkin puree I have not seen it here, but do make my own from a small pumpkin - usually have enough leftover to make a pumpkin soup. I have seen pieces of cut pumpkin in the Migros lately though which might work for one pie.
