Hello,
We would like to plan a ski week in Crans-Montana- family with kids ages 6,6,3. Does anyone have any tips on hotels or apartments?
We would like to be walking distance from a lift/gondola and convenient to the ski school...we would also like to know if there is a child care that picks up the little kids from the ski school and takes them for the afternoon...
Any tips are greatly appreciated!
(Moderate Swiss budget)
Thanks,
Nancy
I only know CM from a luxury perspective but their website is good with providing info. Here is a link to the bit about kids
http://www.crans-montana.ch/hiver/en/activities_/kids They also have an extensive section on accommodation. There are 3 main access points up - 1 gondola from crans (called the cry d'er I think), 1 gondola from Montana and 1 from barzettes/violettes. So if you can get accommodation close to those gondolas you will have easy access up. Not much of CM is ski in ski out though so quite often you do need to walk back at the end of day. There is a good map on the website which shows the piste and villages.
The ski schools in the different villages have different meeting points and for some that is at the top of the gondolas. You'll need to check with each ski school for the time of season.
Hope you find something that suits you. Have fun!
Well from personal experience, the Hotel Crans Ambassador might be worth checking out..its a 5 Star Hotel and in my opinion the rates where afffordable..it's a walking distance from the Cry d'Er and from a ski school with a name i cannot readily remember.Plus there's an amazing + calming view from their Lounge/Bar area.Child friendly..Sauna and massage..The full works
