when mentioning knotting, I mean something in the direction of Macrame
or Lacing
it should be of course something simple, just to provide interest and basic skills in this stage.
any idea or good experience?
Tnx

Macrame plant pot holder, when you plant the plant yourself in a little pot, kids love that. Then you knot around it to create macrame plant pot suspentions.

The 2nd thing is something I like because it is so cheerful. Make a paperplate loom, paint it and then weave with left over happy color yarns. Make one a day or a few and put them together in a mosaic. We put stuff like this in the hall of the building to make people smile.
Good idea!
but Im all thumbs and might lose all the small credibility which my child still has for me in this regard
You'll be fine, we all have to do it and kids live it when they can do things with their parents, even if it does become a disaster zone....(all the more fun creating family memories too )
Get a really simply explained, easy-to-follow book out of the library, or print out downloaded step-by-step instructions. Then say, very openly, to the child: "Well, I'd like to try to make this thing here, with you. I'm feeling a bit scared that I might not get it right. So please, let's follow these instructions together, okay?"
Let's not teach them perfectionism, humans have wonderful flaws and not everyone is an artist.
Messing up and being original together is an adventure. When art is envolved, nothing can go wrong, anyways. Just get a good apron/overalls when working with paints.
That is correct and actually we already started. so far, she is willing to do only cupcakes . reading the above ideas, I will look for a source (book or other) to have a more recepeis and ideas for cooking together with children.
Im on for experimenting stuff together with children. always fun to be nostalgic..
