Credit Suisse asks investors to destroy documents linked to oligarch and yacht loans

Just... wow... https://www.ft.com/content/bfea0069-...b-9712ce95a282

Sending open mails like this, asking investors to destroy non-confidential info to hide business information related to sanctions? Yeah, that is about as dodgy as it gets, lets just call it corruption except without any attempt at subtlety. Evidence trails like this are a compliance nightmare and an auditors dream, whoever thought this was a good idea clearly has a screw loose.

Credit Suisse are making other Swiss banks look like paragons of virtue lately.

Looks like Credit Suisse is determined to confirm its dodgy-Swiss-Bank Bond film image.

How life changes, when I was young bankers were highly respected members of the community.

Don't want to sink the boat.

Come on, it’s not the first time they have done this kind thing for heavens sake! Google Frank Quattrone.

Frank Quattrone send an email to his internal CS team asking them to clean up their files... this case is very different: Asking clients openly to delete files like that is not just a legal question - it is first and foremost so incredibly stupid that the mind boggles. CS is a bank which had a dozen or so massive scandals over the last 2-3 years. They must be struggling with clients losing trust in them. I really wonder who thought that it is a good exercise to ask clients to delete some brochures on Russian yacht and jet financing... nobody would have ever cared, but now the whole world talks about it. A PR disaster that was completely preventable and most importantly completely predictable. Somebody should really lose his job about that... or the shares will dive even more.
