Yesterday (Monday, 19.12.), five cyclists ended up injured in Basel because a man on a bike attacked them with a metal rod. The person (a tall man on a dark bicycle, possibly an e-bike) has not been caught yet, so if you use your bike in Basel, please be careful.

There was me thinking the 81 were having a go at the Outlaws or Bandidos, but no, it's cyclists.

I was confused. I thought you were talking about motorcyclists at first.

'Bikers' is, in UK English almost solely used as slang for motorcyclists (quite often in a gang).

'Cyclists' ride pedal-bicycles. But bicycles are routinely called 'bikes'!
