You even got on to a lady's thread yesterday who is expecting her first child and is 10 days overdue, terribly worried and anyone that didn't have your opinion you groaned at yet had nothing of value, support or help to offer on the thread.. all you did was make the thread look controversial when it was simply other Moms trying to offer their support.. any kind words to offer? no, not one - how miserable you are. You just make threads look unsightly by your constant nonsensical groans. It is also becoming tiresome watching you follow some long standing helpful supportive Forum members and groan them like some sad stalker. If you have no decent netiquette then you need to go elsewhere.
I live, work and pay taxes in CH, have lived here for many years and have so many wonderful things to say about Switzerland but when I find something that doesn't work well or unfair, I complain like many Efers do here as this is a forum to support and help ex-pats. If I lived in my home country and paid taxes there, I would complain if something wasn't right - common sense eh?
So, I wish the Switzerland-is-perfect-and-always-fantastic crowd would get a grip, stop groaning and just write good counter arguments to give a balanced view.
Yes this person has groaned me for no particular reason on another post too! the way they are mis using their groan button I wouldn't be a bit surprised if they got a repetitive strain injury, actually I hope they do!!
True in some sense, but manners do count when it comes to attracting / retaining members. This DeLeuze character is a real bomb thrower. He / she gave me a right flaming for only my second post on the EF, fortunately everyone else was helpful, and persuaded me that EF was worth sticking with.
Seems others have been subjected to his / her tender ministrations too. You can say. "Poor didums, you need to thicken your hide..." However the Web is the ultimate free market, I personally have dropped off various boards when members on them start to p!ss me off.
i was told that when i buy a ticket in machine, it's already validated. seems it is not true in case of old machines.
but when we were on train from zurich oerlikon to HB , after handing over not validated ticket, inspectors asked me and my wife if we are tourists, i of course said yes he sighed, then smiled, validated it and explained how it works, all in english
so my experience was very good. just saying, that it really more depends on a person than anything else. tell it to your wife, that it was just a bad luck, not her fault.
I have only had one dodgy experience with my tickets on the train, travelling back to Oetwil one night we were sharing a carriage with an extremely drunk bloke and his girlfriend. The ticket inspector came through and the drunk stood up and said he had forgotten his ticket, the ticket guy just shrugged and then came over to us. He checked our passes then asked the age of our five year old, I told him he was five then he had the nerve to ask me "Are you sure?" feeling pretty insulted by his query I just replied back "yeah I gave birth to him" I got the feeling he just wanted his pound of flesh off someone because he didn't feel comfortable confronting the drunk about the lack of ticket.
Now we carry our sons permit with us everywhere just in case his age is queried again. All in all I find my dealings with SBB very pleasant and have had no other issues with them.
It's part and parcel of forum life, and seemingly innocuous people will always turn into what are commonly known as "****-wads" when placed behind a keyboard and given anonymity. If someone pees you off just put them on ignore. Here is a picture that explains the process in simple terms:
i like the day pass for zurich, half tax card and can ride boats/trams and so on. that's just in zurich which is very cool...
the only thing i got in trouble for once was i went to zurich for the weekend and bought a round trip in the machines.
on my way back sunday the ticket fella who was quite nice explained (to the best of his english and my understanding of his broken english) that getting a round trip from basel to zurich was not an option, that i should just buy one way tickets. so i guess same day round trips are okay but not a couple days in advance.
If a return ticket is valid for 1 or 30 days depends on the travel distance. It's a bit silly and because I think there isn't a financial incentive to buy return tickets anyway I always buy single way tickets now...
