Dating, Tinder and Sex questions at first

Pictures please!

Uhm just to kind of bring in another lens: was bored one day, went on Tinder, liked exactly one guy, dated said guy for over two years.

Friend of mine has been dating her Tinder dude for almost 4 years now...

I do not think you can generalize....I thought the same for a long time but I have seen and know many people in long term relationships off Tinder. My ex of 10 months was from Tinder (I met him 3 years prior we started dating on Tinder). Maybe in general, there is a high % interested in casual relationships but today there are many joining just to find more than casual...the taboo that is only a sex app is long gone at least on my part of the world...maybe on that side it is still more sex taboosih......I go down when I understand that I want to...if not, he can close the door on his way out.... An independent successful woman with high self esteem is never force into anything she does not want to do...

I know it happens......these guys are stuck on only sex on Tinder...not anymore..Thanks for sharing

ahaha I thought this was the English Forum not a dating website but if you are that curious you can find me on FB [name removed]. I need new friends since I am coming all alone...

I am soooo going install Tinder tonight.

Thanks for sharing. Yea when we broke up I was like "do I want to do this...." because I was an expat in Bermuda single for 3 years and a new country has its own challenges but now I am just going to take it very relaxed and go with the flow...like you said "life goes on" with / without someone...we are born alone and guess what? we will also die alone.....sadly but it is life.

Well if you are there to meet people, the only way to meet people is talking and seeing if you want to take it offline for a coffee..assuming that there is interest in both sides no? If you match with someone and both stay silent - what is the point? Collecting matches...well are we 12? hahah

You dirty old man you.

Hell yes!

Err, isn't that exactly what you're complaining about? If all the replies you're getting are just wanting sex, that seems pretty good evidence to support the idea.

I watched today "Bad Match" on Netflix....it explains the "numbers games" lol genius. I never thought of it. But yes makes sense. Any ways, I unmatched them all. I am not worried about the unattractive part because one man's ugly is another's beautiful. I find plenty unattractive as well which I am sure other women will disagree with me.

Not really because I had a serious bf from Tinder and know people in long term relationships that met on Tinder. To be honest, I was more thinking of a cultural thing. I thought the replies will be more or less about how "difficult" German / Swiss girls are hence there are many desperate guys online. I read some blogs about how hard is to date the locals (not sure is true)....I was not expecting the replies I got about being at the wrong place...I learned something new today. I actually read some blogs about do not engage in small talk or approach guys at bars..just go on Tinder and set up a date from there. Well,,,,

swiss people (like most of the world) find americans annoying. particularly when they appear loud, inappropriate and fake.

No ones that desperate...

That is a way to put all Americans in one basket.....same way I now could say that all Swiss men are perverts because of this experience which is also not true. Besides, I am not American. I am Cuban. I migrated to the States at 19. I hold a US citizenship but it does not make me "American" by heart nor do I behave like one....

And "most of the world" is at the borders trying to get in and applying for citizenship or trying to invest in the US....which also makes them "fake" if they despise Americans that much. I come from a third world country. I am grateful for my US education which has got me very far. I am respectful of all cultures, open minded, customs and also different personalities.

not _all_ but stereotyping is certainly useful when it explains the majority.

good. that certainly makes you one of the exceptions to the rule.

haha. that old propaganda cookie, stoked by geographical and cultural isolation. i somehow doubt very much.

Not darling, that is my job. I do assist foreign investors getting into the US and obtaining visa via investment. Recent call this AM was a Middle East investor holder of a permanent Swiss permit and resident in Switzerland. Yes, "Most of the World" wants a piece of that country full of annoying Americans like you said....and that is just one example....we get calls everyday. We work with many diff nationalities. If you ask me, no thanks. I prefer Europe but "most of the world" would want to be there.

its certainly not 'most'. its mainly people from (and i'm paraphrasing the democratically elected PotUS here... so pardon my french) s**thole countries. its just relatively easy/cheap compared to getting an EU (or swiss) passport. ask how many US citizens and green card holders on this forum have given back their passports/residence.

in fact surely you're going to have to pay US tax yourself aren't you?

i lived in the US for 12 years, have travelled to almost all the states and still travel there monthly. right now i'm down to cramming what i need to do into about 2-3 days a month before i escape back to civilisation.

of course there are plenty of lovely people there - almost more than in most other countries in fact - but it doesn't change the fact its still a run down, backward place that is fundamentally broken in so many ways, and the behaviour/conduct of most of its people is still jarring and irritating. surely that's blindingly obvious and universally acknowledged?

I know all about giving up citizenship to avoid taxes when you are not coming back. But knowing what I know....I can tell you yes "most"...so many people I met in Bermuda SA, Canada, UK, etc. that envy my US citizenship when I was ready to do a trade really....

Sure thing, foreign earned income exclusion allows the first 100K and change free of US tax + your housing exclusion which is a bit more...but yes I do. I also enjoy protection of US laws and courts and I am protected in my real estate and investments in the States in that sense.

Like in many cultures....I have been out of the US now for 4 years and I have met many people from diff places and I can tell you that is relative to all cultures....nothing more annoying than cheap Canadians at time of paying a restaurant bill (knew a couple).....I am poor and I felt embarrassed...I would say that all cultures are annoying to others in many ways.....Yes, Americans with Trump now are in the spotlight but I would not blame Americans. Respect for cultures

I have been to Germany a couple times....I am still waiting for someone to return a hello, good morning or say thank you. It drove me nuts. I do not think all Germans are rude...but it annoys me when I visit. Oh well....I do wish to make Europe my home because the American life style is not my cup of tea.

i think there is a selection bias here. these people actively seek you out. its a bit like saying, "i work in a prison and i can tell you 'most' people are criminals - i see them all day".

who should i blame? the russians?

acknowledged - some might say they are reservedly polite and don't wear a facade.... and if you want to start comparing the number of immigrants queuing to get into a country .... but let's not go there...
