Daughter makes eating time a nightmare!

My little worm is not underweight and her doc is very happy with her. Trying not to stress is really easier said than done as this "phase" has been going on since she started eating with 6 months. It is just a looooong time and I am only scared she will carry on like this.

1. She drinks fine and has no bottles! umm...I dont like her walking around with a bottle in her mouth and trying to gugu something at me with it in the way Instead she has her special cup that she happily fills up with water and drinks in the kitchen.

2. She is allowed to have fruit whenever she wants and if she comes in with an apple I also cut it up for her. Seldom though more than a piece will be eaten and only if her bigger sister is there will she have a slice more.

3. We have a small childrens plate for her and on it fits maybe max. three spoons of food. I definately would not put a full plate of food before her and expect her to eat it. I am happy when half of her portion is gone.

4. I cook for all of us the same food but when it is really spicey or fondue then the girls get their own food. eg: baked beans with sossie or nudels with cheese-carrot sauce.

5. sure not everyone likes the same things but at least something she should enjoy - NO chocolate is not for me a nutrional meal

thanks for all the help and all the tips plus support. It gives me an extra boot to carry on and remember that I am not alone. great weekend to all and enjoy the fantastic weather outside!!

I would definitely second Knorrli's suggestion - this is a fantastic book and helped me to relieve a lot of my worries.

And if you have a Kindle application on your comp or Kindle or Kindle for Ipad, you can get it instantly.

Also does she behave like this only in the family circle? How does she it if she eats together with other children?

Normally it is just the phase or she doesn't need to eat so much. The size of the portion (read: expectations) also maters. If she eats the entire small portion - and you praise her, that feels good. If it is a biggish person and she can't finish it - doesn't feel nice.

You can always top it up if she wants more after a small portion. Hold on in there!
