We may be moving to Zurich in 4 to 6 months with 2 children, a 1 year old and a 4 year old (will be 5 in October). I'm getting apprehensive about the daycare situation - it doesn't sound like there's much available in Zurich.
What are my options? Would I be best of trying to sign up from over here for different daycares? Or...would my older child be accepted into kindergarden yet? If so, would there be afterschool options?
I'd be very grateful for any info or links to websites with info. I can read German, so german websites wouldnt' be a problem.
Thanks,
Sylvia
I thought school started at 6-7 years here? (im not sure on that)
I think childcare is a prob here (from what I have heard). But then again, a guy I went to school with had his two kids in daycare and he had only been here for 4 weeks.
Im working as an au pair at the moment, and before I came along the fam I work for sent their child to a private daycare, bi-lingual (E-G). Im sure this option costs alot. Its great because the children get a good start to education, but then by the time they start school at 7, they probably will be pretty far ahead of the other students.
Nannies are also the other option.
