Dead bird

Today morning I was schocked and sad to see a bird dead on my terrace. It is not my pet, just something flying in the neighbouring trees.

Can you suggest how I can dispose it off?

My heart really ache's to see it.

Throw it in the garden and let nature takes its course.

Or in a rubbish bag, to be collected. (wear gloves.)

Robidog bag over hand, pick up dead bird, close bag, place in bin.

If you feel that sorry for it, treat it like a human and bury it in the ground.

Just dig a small hole somewhere, wrap it in a piece of cloth, and cover it up with some earth. Read a prayer from whichever you consider as holy. If you don't believe in anything, I think you could sing a song or tweet / hum a merry tune. It's what the bird would have wanted.

RIP Bird [ maybe you should think of a name for it ]

in the bin

BBQ? Or is it to early in the season for one?

What would you do in your country ?

Probably hit your window. Try to find some bird cut outs to stick to the windows (does anybody know where to buy those here?) - or it is likely to happen again. Sadly 1000s of birds die every year, as they crash into windows. I'd throw it in a hedge and as said above, let nature take it course.

Do you know what type it is btw?

I believe it's the dead type.

Norwegian Blue

Yes I was thinking of doing that but don't have a garden to bury it. I did say a pray though.

no idea ...

I think it is the Blackbird. It looks like in the link http://www.bbc.co.uk/nature/life/Common_Blackbird

I shall get some bird cut outs. Do you know where I can get these? Pet shops perhaps?

Black paper and scissors can be found almost anywhere.

Can I dig a hole in the nearby forest and bury it there?

Is it a dead parrot?

That parrot is just sleeping. See, it moved.

You have really been Swissified!

YES! Just do it! And if you get asked just say TLD from the EF told me I'm allowed.

In Basel there's the Tierkörpersammelstelle, for Zurich you have to take it to the : animal corpse deposit
