Deals finder website?

Hi,

I am looking for a deal finder website, something like in the UK: http://www.hotukdeals.com/ and in Germany: http://www.mydealz.de/

I have looked and Googled but could not find anything good in/for Switzerland. Plenty of voucher and discount site (very limited) but nothing as good as HUKD.

Anyone has any ideas or sites that they use, please share.

There is nothing like HDUK in CH, only like you say vouchers and discounts for stuff most people never want.

However, this is all logical. The CH market is nowhere near as competetive as the UK or DE, and the people in general don't care about getting great deals on stuff... culturally the Swiss are just very different in that sense.

Make the site yourself and I'll join.

Hi, yes I did see that but it is not like HUKD, where people see a good deal and offer to share. plus dealkompass and the likes are so limited in their offering.

I guess Richdog is right, the cultural difference and lack of competition is killing anything like that in Switzerland.

I am not even sure if starting such a site would make sense, I mean if people do not contribute then it will die. such sites are built and grow based on contribution from the average Jo.

Thanks, I did see those, but again limited, more like vouchers and no search feature for specifics eg "Samsung" for all products from Samsung.

I have an idea: what about we suggest a new section in the Marketplace called "Deals" or something, which will then give everyone a place to make a new thread with whatever deal is currently ongoing.

You can even easily set vbulletin to auto-lock threads, so it would make sense for threads in that section to lock after 30 days of no posts, to ensure that threads posted represent current deals. I think it makes sense.

Sounds like a good idea to me, at least until a proper HUKD type site for CH is built.

the only question is how to increase or reduce a popularity of an item to make it more or less visible? or were you thinking simple comments from EF'rs would do the job?

In any case, I am in.

Lets be realistic, it's only going to be approved if it's a regular style forum section, not if it requires any special coding requirements. if it's popular it will be at the top due to the posts.
