Just wondering if anyone knows of a heat rub, similar to Deep Heat or Tiger Balm, that can be bought in pharmacies here? I took a look in the local one at lunch, but couldn't see anything...
How about Voltarol ? You can find it in any pharmacy in CH.There are also other oitments in pharmacy which relieve the pain in joints, muscless soreness and etc.. but I keep them at home and cannot remember the name right now! BTW: Tiger balsam can be got from oriental shops.
My husband swears by "Volotaren Dolo Emulgel" by Novartis. It's in a silver and orange tube, a larger version of a tube of toothpaste. Although maybe it's sold in a box. We usually buy things at SunStore, so that's where he probably bought this.
After reading this thread, I went to a pharmacy and asked for the Voltaren/Volotarol and expected to get an ointment similar to Deep Heat. My boyfriend had a muscular pain in his side for a few days at this point and showed no signs of getting better.
However, the pharmacist gave me some tablets also called Voltaren. I was a bit sceptical at first as we usually use ointment for muscle pains. However, even just one dose of these tablets and my boyfriend felt remarkably better! So tablets work as well, strangely enough!
Flying Tiger sells "China Balm" for 2fr I saw last wknd, but I found theirs putting me to sleep instead of waking me up. DM Drogerie in Germany/Austria sells theirs for cheap, too, and is quite good, to wake me up after a whole day of classes.
I find Tiger Balm in the bigger pharmacies, just saw it in the Sunstore today. I prefer arnica and Voltren (?) personally. There’s also that Per—something or another that smells horrendous but my husband loves the bath additives and the muscle cream from them.
