Did we really land on the moon?

Here's a typical sceptics argument and the obvious rebuff:

Sceptic: A third person would have had to be there with a camera to take photographs of astronauts arriving on the moon and blasting off again. They must think we're stupid!

Believer: Footage of Neil Armstrong’s small step was shot by a camera mounted on the outside of the Eagle lander. Pictures of Armstrong’s first step taken from the surface of the moon are actually Buzz Aldrin descending the ladder, snapped by Armstrong. Remote cameras left on the moon could easily record the departure of lunar modules

Clearly the Planet Sceptic doesn't posses the level of technology needed for remote shutter release cameras (that have existed here on Planet Earth for well over a hundred years)

Astronaut Charlie Duke said faking it once is one thing but faking it nine times is unlikely. He has a point. Even women can't do that and get away with it.

PHOTOS: 8 Moon-Landing Hoax Myths -- Busted

My elephant memory kicked in. We discussed this before, 2.5 years ago. There were some good points made in the original thread.

Moon landing a hoax ?

When did this happen? Why didn't anyone tell me?

I knew there was something weird about that thunderstorm.

I'm definitely not coming out of the cellar now...

My wife does!

Is the moon really made of cheese and if it is, is it better than the sh!te the Swiss pass off as cheese? Luverly yummy matured cheddar please.

Don't worry, it's not due to happen until last week; and if you see

Kirk Douglas go by with an aircraft carrier, do let us know

Just be careful with that airbed until then... Oops!

.

photo numer 8 is really laughable! never the NASA would leave such an evidence of a hoax in a PR flick. i dont care if armstrong was on the moon or not. but i think that he was. and who cares anyway as "we" have been by now several times?

D98 you're on youtube?

On one hand, I think we must have gone to the moon,

otherwise we wouldn't know what The Clangers look like.

But, on the other hand, if the moon landings didn't happen,

then presumably all this 40th anniversary stuff isn't happening

either...

one's safety factor was determined by the lowest bidder on a

government contract." Alan Shepherd .

As the moon is moving away from us we will eventually lose Total Eclipses.

First photos of moon landing sites here

Ok a bit small, and you cant really make stuff out, but apparently there's better to come.

That would explain a lot...

Did humans REALLY land in the Moon? 57 years later, and we only went around it. Why…?

The script writers had a lot of fun with the movie in 2024 – the ‘dossier’ that Woody Harrison throws to Scarlett Johanson is called " Artemis"

A fake moon landing? | Fly Me To The Moon (2024) | Starring Scarlett and Channing

Christ - I can’t seriously understand how people think the moon landings were faked.

The US was in a space race with the USSR in the Cold War. If the Americans had faked the landings, the USSR would have 100% known about it, and 100% exposed it. But they didn’t, they knew it happened and congratulated the US. On top of that, unmanned spacecraft orbiting the moon from other nations have photographed the landing sites and the evidence is there.

Closer to home, some people think the world is flat.
