We're going to watch a movie at the Pathé cinema in Dietlikon on Saturday evening and would like to have dinner before the movie. 'Desperado' in the Pathé building is not an option, too crowded, and they play that awful happy birthday song all the time ... any suggestions for a(nother) dinner restaurant nearby?
A really good restaurant in Wallisellen www.doktorhaus.ch is 5 minutes drive from the cinema. If you like indian you can drive the back way through the forest to Kloten 10-15 minute drive to www.flavourofindia.net , they open at 6. If you would rather park the car at the cinema and walk Manora restaurant/diner next door to Co-op Mega store but not sure what that is like in the evening. There's also a pizza place across the road but not sure of the name.. will have a look and get back to you.
I second the restaurant as well, they have a great team making good Italian food. They actually do have parking, its a bit hidden: The restaurant is in the building of the Conrad electronics shop which has an underground parking next to the "Dieci". But I am not sure of the opening times of the parking place, so better park directly at the Pathe and walk approx 30 seconds to there :-)
had no idea that was the parking, but i would go when visiting pathe rather than conrad so that's why i park at pathe too (though parking there costs a bomb but no choice )
Thanks a lot for all your recommendations, I've just made a reservation at 'Dieci'. I wasn't aware that they had a restaurant in Dietlikon!
'Doktorhaus' and 'Flavour of India' sound tempting too, I guess we'll have dinner there at other occasions, maybe for a more formal dinner at 'Doktorhaus'.
You can pay the parking when you buy your cinema tickets at the Pathe-desk and get a much better price than simply paying the machine. They give you an exit ticket which you can use whenever the movie is finished (I think it had a different color so you do not mix up which one to use).
Went once and the loud birthday song stopped our conversation and went on and on and on.. if the food was good you'd put up with the song, we haven't been back .
If you didn't have to walk through the place to get to anything you intended to buy, you would potentially leave without buying all the things you do not need.
