After looking at a lot of gyms in the area, I've decided to join Migros FitnessPark... it's not super fancy but it's an excellent value, especially with the card that gives me access to all the Migros gyms (and hammams) in Switzerland... I think it's something like 12 different facilities in just the Zurich area, and 90 total across all of the country.
Not that I have come across, but check with your health insurance for any contribution. Mine contributes 800 bucks a year.

I can see nothing about discount on their site however I wonder if there is a benefit if you present a migros club card during sign up?

Had a deal a few weeks back for CHF899 for the intercity card. It sold out in seconds! I'm kicking myself as I had it in my shopping basket, but then removed it to investigate it a bit further on the fitness park website. When I returned, all gone!! My work has struck a bit of a deal, which provides a CHF100 discount, plus they give me CHF400 a year 'healthy lifestyle' activities. So I guess the membership will cost me CHF200 for the year. (If you include the health insurance rebate. Apart from this, fitness park do not, ever offer deals, so if you want to join, don't bother waiting for a deal.
I wonder if cumulus card could help?
