Dishwasher liquid

Is dishwasher liquid ( not tablets) available in Migros or COOP or in any other supermarket? If yes, what is the name?

Yes.

Thanks for the link. Will check.

It is definitely available in Germany if you cannot get it here

Can't get this one. Do you know the name?

Thanks. But I will prefer in Switzerland (Zurich).

Sun is one of them.

Great, Thanks a lot. Will check tomorrow in COOP. :-)

Ray is the COOP own brand one. I'm sure Migros has it too if you look in the dishwasher product section.

Thanks once again. Yes tomorrow I will check in big Migros(M1/M3) as well.

Lots of choice in Migros it seems.

EF folks,

Do you have a favored brand product for your dishwasher? When we moved into our place I bought a very small bottle in a shop that we used until a few days ago. It did an OK job but I'm not sure I'd run right out and get it again. Looking at our actual dishwasher it says to use Calgonit and Finish. I found the Finish brand liquid to put in the smaller compartment. ( Finally realized what the little snowflake looking symbol meant!) Checked Carrefour and a local Migros and haven't seen Calgonit.

Would love suggestions for the actual soap. Can be powder or liquid or tabs. What do you like about the product?

Also, I'm GUESSING that aside from packaging there isn't that much difference if any between the brands and boxes of salt. Yes? No?

ours has a Finish sticker but my assumption is that it is just marketing.

We actually use the dishwasher powder from Lidl.

Ours allo has a Finish sticker on it but we just use whatever's discounted at the store when we need it.

We generally use the tabs as they're easy to store and to use.

Ours has a finish sticker, but I use mostly Sun - it's always on sale at coop in big quantities - so I buy 80 or three boxes or whatever and it works. I also like the tabs - easy to measure.

I find that you really need the rinse agent, and I buy whatever is on sale at the time - again, sun in packs of 3 or ray, which seems really cheap.

I think the migros store brand is called handy, but I'm not sure.

Why don't you just check online!??

Our tech guy (Siemens) told us to stick with powder or gel and forget the tabs. It seems the do not dissolve as quickly as needed.

We buy the Migros HandyMatic supreme multi power All in One powder. On half off every 2-3 months (like this week - in a two pack).

Ktipp did a recent report saying that Aldi's own brand was their top choice. A brand called Somat actually won but as it was three times more expensive, they basically said go with Aldi instead. And they were categoric that powder beat tablets every time but I do not recall what they said about liquid.

A repair engineer said to me once, that powder dissolves instantly when the flap opens, whereas a tab. needs time, so the cleaning solution isn't as instantly concentrated and strong (read 'effective') with a tablet.

I would guess that liquid works the same as powder.

I use the tabs from Aldi ..... and it cleans pans, crockery, cutlery as one would expect. I have also used Somat (Coop) and that also cleaned everything - for a bit more money.

EDIT: I missed Verbier's post above - sorry to repeat what's been said already. I also used to use Migros powder, but my SIL insisted that it wrecked her machine, over time, so I changed.

Thanks for all of the info! I considered the fact that the Finish sticker could very well be marketing. Maybe BOSCH has some sort of deal with them? At any rate I wanted to double check so as not to screw up the machine. The landlord has placed what I think are pretty decent appliances in this place and I'd like to do my best to keep them working well.

I ended up getting handy matic brand from Migros. I THOUGHT I had picked up the powder that was on sale but guess in my haste grabbed the tabs. First load ran last night and seemed to do a good job. Not sure if glasses are more clear due to the added rinse agent, topping off salt, or the new detergent.

Thanks again for helping a "newbie" learn about different products!

Do not use the budget line dishwasher tabs from Coop. You will have to put things in the dishwasher more than once if you do.
