Swissquote tend to hold back about 35% of any dividends I receive on Swiss shares, how do I either claim this back and/or account for it in my tax returns?

Fill in the relevant section of your tax return. Don't know about BS, but in BL you can just claim a "Pauschal" amount instead of the actual amount.
As well as the return itself, I send every dividend documentation and every purchase and sale for the complete year. Except if I buy shares during the year and sell them before year end. I don't send that documentation in.
