Cheers!
I am going through a separation and divorce with my wife who works for the UN in Geneva. I currently live in Canada. Does anyone have a line on a good English speaking lawyer in Geneva. I prefer a female lawyer as if we end up in court it creates a better "balance" in appearance to the court.
Things are different here, it's all about compromise & divorce is ALWAYS no fault. There is not a fight in court.
Why not try arbitration first? It doesn't have to be a fight or all out war, if both parties are sensible it can be resolved amicably & at a reasonable cost & I am not just talking about money.
I agree. I never want to see the inside of a courtroom. However, she seems pretty intent on doing so. Inevitably I will need a lawyer. I need guidance with respect to the child support and other costs that I would be expected to pay according to Swiss law.
Thanks for the link. I have read these general guidance links before. However, with regard to child support it says "consult a lawyer". So I am still in need of a good lawyer in Switzerland.
Actually:
“For information on how maintenance contributions are calculated, contact a judicial authority or a lawyer.”
This may help.

You could contact the court to find out how the maintenance contributions are calculated.
Also have you tried contacting the Canadian embassy here in Switzerland to see if they could recommend anyone?
