Do we have any car enthusiasts on EF?

Hi everyone,

Cars a huge passion and hobby of mine and since moving from the UK to Switzerland last year, I'm missing the car scene.

I will hopefully have a car by the end of February and was wondering if there are any likeminded individuals on this forum who enjoy going for drives and car shows and meets?

I plan on driving abroad once I have the car because I love road trips with no planned destinations!

You are in the best country for this. Why go abroad?

Because Schwarzwald has no cameras and better speed limits

Switzerland is also on my list.

But the speed cameras can be a real pain too!

Interesting, what will car enthusiasts do, when most of vehicles will be electric. Which modes can be upgrated to gain more power?

Hey InvertedPanda, which car did you got?

Hey Martin,

Sorry, I only just saw this post!

I've got a BMW M135i. What about you?

Hi,

Im just curious, how did it go by finding gearheads around? Did you meet, chat, wrench, what so ever?

I do all of the above, but usually in Italian!

And mainly on bikes. ITALIAN bikes.

Tom

I made some Swiss friends recently in Bern who are into their cars. Nobody from this forum though, unfortunately.

I’ve gone on some fantastic drives in Switzerland this year though. More to come next year!

Im rather after carndcoffee style, but not too much around here ....

desmo?

‘I plan on driving abroad once I have the car because I love road trips with no planned destinations’

This is me. The mileage on my previous car was 98.000km after 2,5 years.

I am trying to be gentle with my new car but it is already 15k km since June I think i was a taxi (or truck) driver in my previous life (!)

Quick car, where did you get it?

Exactly, that will be the question, how to gain more "electric power" but fast one, such as quick charger and co

Some of them.

Tom

They will spend more time with a mouse and keyboard than the current generation spends with power and hand tools.

There will be a market for exclusivity, and there will be "Tuners", but long term I think the car will become more of just "A thing".

There are already electric cars that are as fast or faster than most street cars, just the prices need to align better.

More like, what are they going to do when they all become driver-less?

Guess that will mean instead of petrolheads we'll have electric heads....robots?
