Hi, I am not sure where to put this as there doesn’t seem to be a specific folder, so I’ll put it here in the general one in the hope of getting replies ☺
I am coming to Zurich tomorrow for 2 days, and being a huge Chelsea fan really really need to see the game vs Manchester City.
I’ve had a look on the internet and at some older posts on here, and seen a few pubs mentioned, however they all seem to be in the centre and I am staying in Oerlikon – do you know any near this area? Or if not how would I get into the town centre and how long would it take?
I would really appreciate any help, if you suggest any pubs, do you know if they have big screens?
Also, I notice there is a game involving Zurich on the same night, I assume this take would take priority over Chelsea?
Thanks for your help!
Rachel
PS As I am female and would most likely be on my own is Zurich safe to walk around by myself after dark?
Sorry I should've said, if there are none in the area, could you reccomend the ones in the town centre (near to the station) - I've read a few like Oliver twists, Nelsons - but are they any good, if possible with a big screen?
As there is a Swiss game on at the same time I guess I'd need somewhere with more than one screen?
Thanks
And if we do draw (or lose) and you see a female Chelsea fan walking around looking grumpy it'll probably be me!
The Oliver Twist is where myself and most of my friends go. Its go two big screen tvs and two smaller ones so there is never any problem getting to see the game. (and yep its an english/irish pub so the chelsea game will take preference).
As for in Oerlikon there is one English pub. how can i describe how to get there........well if you are walking through the town centre, large coop to your right hand side and the train station in front of you....well you continue walking to the station and turn right. It should be just around there. In fact it might even be called "the english pub"....sorry its been a good 8 months or so since i was there.
I live in Oerlikon, and usually watch my footy in the Nelson or Lion. The Nelson has a better atmoshpere for games, but the Lion pretty has good food. And I'm a growing lad!
It's dead quick and easy to get back from Zurich to Oerlikon too on the train, after the game.
Think I will go to the Nelson as I just phoned them (it says Arsenal on their website but he says they will show Chelsea too and hopefully should be more Chelsea fans) and he was very nice and helpful
