Do You Love Your Car?

What do you like or dislike most about your car?
Is it the cup holders?
In a recent USA study the major complaint was cup holder frustration.
Is this also a problem in CH?

2025 U.S. Initial Quality Study (IQS) | J.D. Power

Interestingly Audi came in last with the most problems.

Thank goodness our cars are so old they don’t have cup holders. One has a brick-sized phone, though…

Probably trying ram in one of those ridiculous Stanley cups…

or not kind to a Solo.

I can’t even remember what the cup holders are like in our cars so they are clearly of no importance to me.

“Reusable containers” means ridiculously large bottles. It would be interesting to see what kind of damage those bottles can do during a crash.

Yesterday, I test drove a car which is not designed for large people. The seats can’t simply seat comfortably anyone slightly overweight due to seat bolster. Cup holders were fine for 500 ml drinks or a coffee travel mug. Maybe cars that accommodate for large people need those huge “cup” holders.

Don’t use them for cups, put other stuff in them instead.

Well in the land of cup holders Subaru comes with the most.
But Mercedes one ups it with 5 per person.

I find cupholders quite handy. Mine are the perfect size to hold spare leads and harnesses.

I love my compact bare-bones no frills car. Gets me where I need to go, without worries and surprisingly little expense. Which is pretty much all I ask of a car.

When I drove mini metros I loved them dearly. When my second and last one (couldn’t find a left hand drive anymore after that) died on me in Ticino I had it transported back home over the Alpes by TCS (for free!) just to be told here again that it is truly dead.

Yes I too love “compact bare-bones no frills cars”. Hard if not impossible to find now. Even Dacia doesn’t make them anymore. My neighbour parks his old one next to mine in the garage and I give it envious looks.
