We have almost lived in Switzerland one year now and are getting ready to submit our paperwork for our Swiss License (we like to procrastinate)
However, right now we live in canton Vaud and have all the paperwork for canton Vaud. Next month (May 1st) we are moving to canton Bern.
My question is, can we submit everything for our Swiss License under canton Vaud, or will we need to change it right away when we move to canton Bern? I could always wait until we move to canton Bern to submit for our license, but that will be cutting it really close to our 1 year date since we moved here early May of last year. I'm hoping that once you have a Swiss license it doesn't matter what canton you got it from... but I'm not sure if it works this way.
I didn't mean to suggest that you shouldn't advise the MFK (not sure of French equivalent -- the motor registry, basically) when you move -- just that you should change your licence over now, then update the details once you're in Bern(e).
As this wasn't in Transport, I really did wonder if it wasn't talking about something else and not a driving licence at all. Nice if the OP clarifies it then we can move the Thread.
