What kind of bracelets ?

teeth braces!

i THINK what you are looking for are teeth BRACES. not quite the same, but in my view damned expensive here. I know one lady in Basel who has so far spent over 8000 chf on them,. bottom line, i think its cheaper and better quality to have such work done in either Hungary or Romania where the quality of work is excellent and the price is much lower than you would pay here.

Or Prague. I have seen anything from 5000 to 10000fr here.

Second that......Sfr8000 - Sfr10 000 easily, and remember they HAVE to extract 4 teeth, usually premolars....that is the only thing that is stopping me from getting my teeth done

does that include the cost of travelling to and fro, you need checkups every 2weeks

My daughter is half way trough a three year treatment plan and has braces. So far the braces and treatment have cost 5500 sfr!

I would check on the extraction. It might be the case for some people but surely not everyone requires it. It should depend on your individual treatment.

My colleague at work was quoted 17k for his daughter for three years

Her teeth are practically straight already. I think there are quite a few unscrupulous dentists in this country.

If you live near Germany I would price it out there, especially with the Euro where it is at. The biggest costs are up front and later on the visits are farther apart.

Not at all sure getting it done too far away could work. I had monthly visits for three years as a kid and now my son and heir to my pearlies has monthly appointments...only a couple of years more to go...

Agreed that the treatment is not a one off visit. You need to visit 2 or 3 times a month to get the tensions on the individual teeth adjusted.

The Swiss Invalid Insurance (IV) will pay for the treatment as it is considered a birth defect. But if you were born outside Switzerland they won't pay.

You could go to an Orthodontist in Germany or France every week, that would probably be cheaper.

Hi Noella, can you please guide me where this Doctor was?

thanks

Braces require constant adjustment, and is not a one time installation.

I think you will find better prices across the border, in Germany. And closer for the regular checkups.

Look into Invisalign. On there website, you can find a list of certified Invisalign providers, then go for a consultation.

Doesn't your daughter's dental insurance cover it, if she has one? Which is a good thing if you have dental insurance. In the US, braces are not covered by dental insurance.

5-10,000 CHF for my daughter. My daughter's braces cost about 5,000 CHF for the first round (age 11). Now that all her baby teeth are out she needs them again (age 14) and it will be about the same price apparently.

I checked once for prices to do my teeth and they said it would be about the same price just for simple straightening.

Our insurance (which is basic) doesn't pay for it. You can take out a zusatz (supplemental coverage) when they are little I think. By the time they actually need them I think it is too late.

Dental insurance is best arranged when you are still a child and before there is ANYTHING wrong with your teeth. After that, I reckon there's too much stuff that they don't treat because it's a pre-existing condition.

As for the braces, fixing my teeth cost over 10k, some Gemeinde cover (or used to cover) a certain percentage of the treatment costs up to a certain age, but I don't know which Gemeinde and how much. I just know that this was the case when I had braces and that I was just over the age for them to cover anything. Sadly my retainer fell out when I was living in England and, being where I was, they didn't put a new one in so my teeth are a bit crooked again. If I had the money, I'd have Invisalign done. But that's a very big IF.

I had four molars out to make room for the teeth to sit straight.

Self ligating braces are the best... have them currently and just a few weeks after they were placed I already saw improvements and compared to the normal braces (which takes years and years) this brace will take super less time and at least 4 doctor visits only in a year. I got them back home for CHF 2000 (equivlnt). I guess they might also have that here.

Insel hospital Bern they said that they could offer the teeth braces cheaper than other Orthodontist info accrdng to my swiss INLaws havent tried there myself...
