Does your cleaning lady shower at your place?

This morning, I saw my neighbor‘s cleaning lady (I’m assuming as much, I know he has one) trying to lower the shades in the dining area (which is facing my bedroom) - topless, sort of trying to cover her upper body.

The shades are electric and the switch is on the other side of the room.

I’m excluding the „other“ explanation here, because I think he wasn’t home and she looked very much senior his age.

I needed to buy some bread and had no time to wave to her or engage in a conversation.

I‘m not sure I will bring this up at the owners‘ meeting on Monday.

It’s a free country, I’m not judging.

I would imagine it would be much more efficient to strip off before cleaning a shower stall. Your clothes don’t get wet and you can get into all of the corners.

No practical advice but this post is just comedy gold!

Every sentence just gets funnier.

Also, as far as I know, my cleaning lady remains fully dressed at our place.

Maybe she was getting ready for some naked yoga?

Trying and then stealing clothes?

Wait, wait, I think I’ve seen this movie. She says “oh, it’s so hot in here” and then a few minutes later a pizza delivery guy arrives.

Shame. Would have loved to know the reaction!

I know.
I was a little shocked myself and it was obvious she hadn’t really planned for this kind of…candidness.

My guess is she was very much embarrassed.

I liked that bit   Seriously?

His dining room faces your bedroom and you could engage in a conversation, the windows are that close? “Verdichtetes Bauen”, huh?

I don’t think the English have a word for it yet. ‘Condensed construction’? the new thing/plan in Switzerland. For @MedeaFleecestealer " densification des constructions" got that from admin.ch, you can explain it in English :slightly_smiling_face:

The windows are 3-layer. You can’t really converse through them.

It’s not super-close. But close enough.
He rarely (almost never) has the shades down (and he’s rarely living in there, due to job and splitting his time with the kids, who are with the ex in Kanton Bern somewhere).

I don’t have neighbors in front of my dining room (one reason why I bought it).

priorities differ, the privacy of my bedroom predominate the one of my dining-room.

Sooo, I managed to shed some light on the situation. Without actually disclosing what I saw.

It’s not his cleaning lady, but the sister of the neighbor upstairs, who is on visit from Canada.

Because he’s almost never here, he has apparently offered to rent out a room for her - like an Airbnb.

So, it’s a good thing that I didn’t blurt out the whole story for everybody‘s amusement.

Well, you did. On the internet.

I’m just wondering how you broached this to your neighbour…

I don’t even know all our neighbours and you know who visits whom? I think you’re perfectly integrated!

Well, with the neighbours dining-room window facing your bedroom-window you would too. Lay back and watch the party.

I didn’t. I just asked him if he had a cleaning lady because I had seen a woman in his apartment.

He said, „Ah, no that‘s his sister“ (points to neighbor upstairs).

Conversation quickly turned to cleaning help and that was basically the end of it.

Switzerland…a country with at least 6 milliion police.

I didn’t know. They told me.

As I said, we have a very good relationship between the neighbors.
