Donation centers in Neuchatel or Biel (Household goods)

We recently moved from a 6.5 piece apartment to a 3.5 piece. We have a ton of miscellaneous stuff to donate (rugs, lights, chairs, etc).

Does anyone know of a place where I can drive up and drop off our stuff? Preferably in Neuchatel or Biel.

Thanks!

I'd be interested to know this too. We have loads of crockery and stuff to give away.

There are a couple of charity shops- I've given the info here before but will look them up again and get back.

Re: Second hand clothes around Neuchatel?

Wow - don't you hate people who give wrong info! Mea culpa.

Went there today and found the restaurant is now called 'Désobéissance'. Changed ownership and name last August. Had a nice lunch there, very friendly- nice place, nice staff, great lunch. It is on the corner of Rue des Terreaux and rue des Chavannes. The charity shop is called 'La Grappilleuse' and is just below, on rue de Neubourg. Opened Tues-Fri 9-11.30 / 14-18 and Sat am 9-12. Mind you, there were 2 bags of clothes and bits and pieces left in the door entrance. Some of the crockery, etc, in the window looked very nice. Bonne chance.

For furniture, get in touch with your local Protestant Church as they do collect and re-distribute.

Teen Services ( www.teenservices.ch ) are based in Neuchâtel, not sure what their policies are regarding donations, but might be a good place to try out.

Don't suppose you've got a sofa-bed going? Looking for one at the moment. Infact, if you've got photo's of the stuff you're looking to offload then you could put them up here and maybe get rid of some of the stuff that way, but maybe that's a bit too much hassle. I know my wife finds it difficult to turn down kitchenware!

There's a place in my street (in Neuchâtel) called the Centre Social Protestant that collects all sorts of stuff, see http://www.csp.ch/ne/

Presumably the Salvation Army has a place/store in one of those villages as well. In my experience they will take the stuff.

Not one in Neuchâtel but there is maybe one in Biel. The salvation army here is only for meetings and what looks like an old folks home.

Saw the protestant place but I thought it looked a bit 'posh'. I was only driving past mind you so didn't get a very good look. I'll have a look next time I'm in Neuchâtel.

Hi,

If you have material or clothes for babys, I know that SOS futures maman would be very happy with them.

The salvation army take second hand goods. Clothes - there's also the red cross second hand shop in Biel.
