Double stroller advice?

Hello people,

I am searching for advice for a double stroller. Our first baby will be 20 months when the second one will come.

Any ideas / advices / experiences?

Many thanks in advance :-)

For getting around Zurich, with an older and younger child, most of the mums I know prefer something like the 'phil and ted's which has a hammock type part underneath - the older kid can see out the front, the baby is where you can see them easily.

I work with babies and toddlers. We use big double side-by-side prams for taking long walks, but for getting on/off the bus, tram or train, the phil and ted's is much more flexible...

How old is your older child ? Certainly by age 3+ they should only be using the pram occasionally, when really tired or when the parent is in a big hurry... so then it's possible to take out the baby hammock and put the buggy board on the back (I'm fairly sure this is possible) if you feel that's a good option...

Well....

I just had a baby back in November and also have a 2 year old. I ended up buying the Safety 1st Duodeal from Windeln.ch. Our oldest sits in the front while the baby is in the back. The stroller fits well in trains and buses, and it can be folded easily. Here is the link if you want to check it out:

For this stroller you will also have to buy something like this for the baby because it does not come with one:

It is also a plus that the price is cheaper compared to other brands.

We are indeed looking at Phil and Teds, it seems it is quite a practical model.

We went for a Brittax B-Ready which was perfect for us. About to sell it too if you’re interested?

We went for a Bugaboo Donkey ( https://www.bugaboo.com/US/en_US/str...ugaboo-donkey2 )

Cant fault it at all, has been great. Added flexibility is the way it can be used as a 'mono' if you are only out with one child.

We may sell ours pretty soon, if you are interested please drop me a pm.

Good evening,

We keep discussing this topic with my husband and can’t agree so I am lookong for advice: are there any people here with kids 20 months appart? (Or sinilar)

Is a double stroller really helpful or do you think it’s possible to get organised without?

Any experience and advice is welcome :-)

Take a City mini double GT and for the first couple of months place your baby inside a Phil and Teds cocoon. The GT and the regular model are worlds apart to push.

This was the only decent option for us and it really worked well.

In our case it was very, very handy (our two are 19 months apart). We got the donkey as a duo which allows for flexible configuration: i.e. a bassinett (for newborn/<6 months) + seat (for toddler); or two seats (as the newborn gets older). The basinettt is useful as it is sleep rated.

Two of ours were 26 months apart and while appreciate the extra six months is a long time, we didn't have one.

We did have a pram/buggy and a cheap (airline) stroller but for those times when the youngest was very small and the older one was too young to walk far and my wife was on her own, she used a baby sling and the buggy.

I can't remember a single time when we wished we had a double buggy.

For longer walks, they were invariably over rough terrain and when we were together for these, she'd have the younger one in the sling and I'd have the older one in a backpack.

Having said that, my wife was never one for spending hours traipsing around the shops or hanging out in Starbucks with other mothers discussing nothing.

So I guess it depends on you as much as anything.

My nephews are 22 months apart. No double strollee either. We used a buggy board that was put up at the pram if the older one was tired. worked fine.

Interesting researcher on the direction the baby faces, and the baby's ability to connect with adults.
