Drivers license- marriage name change-Geneva

Hello,

I live in Geneva (B permit holder) and got married (in Switzerland) and changed my name recently. I now have my updated permit back and just need to go get my updated drivers license. Has anyone done this before and know the process? Is it a completely new form or do I just go there with my new permit, marriage license and old drivers license and they’ll make the changes? Seems silly if I would have to get another photo/ eye test/etc but can’t find any information online at the moment.

Thanks

In this link you can find all the necessary Information: http://ge.ch/vehicules/permis-de-con...duire-genevois

I gave a quick look and it is quite similar to the procedure in place in Zurich. You need to fill in the form available at the link I posted above, attach the requested documents and your picture. Send all this along with your current license in original (or directly bring the documents in their office) and then they will issue the new license. Here in Zurich it is very quick, it took 2-3 days and I had my updated license delivered.

Make a photocopy of your current license and do not drive abroad until you received the new one. Expect one week processing time.

In Vaud, it is done immediately, you take old license and your name change official document, pay Chf 40.-- wait 10 minutes and walk out with your new license.

It is probably similar everywhere as the license making machines are Federal controlled, not cantonal.

No, not everywhere. I went personally to Zürich-Albisgütli and there they did not provide the new document immediately. The new license was delivered at home in few days and the bill in a one month time and I think it was 20.-

The payment is controlled by the canton, maybe not all cantn's have the new machines, i did a license about 8 moths ago, took 20 minutes from entering the building in Blecherette (VD) to leaving with a new license.
