Driving alone on learners License

Apparently somebody called the police to complain about some boy racer speeding by in this:

I did remove L sign, It is Murphy's law. Just keeping my finger crossed.

And you can't even do that right...

don't drive alone

Thanks for pointing it out. You are perfect

What was the emergency anw? Taking the car to a parking 2km away?

What were you stopped for? Police normaly only stop cars that have comitted a moving traffic offence & not just randomly.

Why were you stopped, and what was the emergency? Without this information, how can we decide if you were silly and unlucky, or just silly.

Hardly sounds like an emergency to me. Public transport or a taxi would have been the intelligent options. I suggest you buy a bus pass as you will be saying goodbye to your learner's permit for a long time.

Police was stopping all cars at that place. I think this was routine check.

As others have pointed out, your decision to drive unaccompanied falls into the 'monumentally stupid' category. You're likely to face a lengthy ban as well as a significant fine, and you'll wish over and over again that you'd chosen to walk the 2km.

Here's what the law has to say:

http://www.admin.ch/ch/f/rs/741_01/a95.html

In short, driving unaccompanied on a learner's permit is considered the same as driving unlicensed. From my reading of the page above (and someone with better French can probably give better guidance) you'll be punished with a fine. Luckily you weren't doing it while banned, or you'd be facing three years in the pokey.

As others have pointed out, they are in the process of tightening up these laws.

The Swiss take this very seriously. Prepare to have the book thrown at you, because that's what's likely to happen.

"sera puni d’une peine privative de liberté de trois ans au plus ou d’une peine pécuniaire"

up to 3 years jail or a fine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

may be you should talk to a layer.

hope that kebab and 4 pack was worth it

Three years in jail is the maximum sentence for people caught driving after their license has been taken away. This is not the case here. As Village Idiot has pointed out, the OP has to expect a fine plus a ban. But no jail time for sure.

The 3 years is only when you don't have the license or when it is suspended.

The OP's case is in point 1: the fine

"celui qui aura effectué une course d’apprentissage "

http://www.admin.ch/ch/f/rs/741_01/a95.html

should be: un cours.

how come they can't write correctly?

French is an official language.

Une course is correct. ("une course d’apprentissage" as in "une course de taxi")

To the OP:

Just out of interest, what happened once they discovered that you were driving alone without a valid licence?

Did they impound your car and make you walk?

They set up random stops all the time .

I was stopped coming out of Rapperswil towards Zurich - one cop walks around car checking tyres I guess, other asks for license and vehicle documents. Whole thing took 2 mins. they were stopping 3 cars at a time, as soon as we three moved off they pulled in the next 3.

you are right 8-()

it is the first time I see it.

but the question is still open because there writing (french and english) is bad.
