This being Switzerland I am sure that there are.
I would like to buy a drone to fly around and take aerial photographs of where I live.

This is the law from the Swiss aviation authority. Main point is you have to maintain eye contact with the drone, are not allowed within 100m of gatherings of people, and are not allowed to film anyone without their permission or you can be prosecuted. You can film in the open if nobody is filmed.
There are rules, and they can be established at any level of administration (case in point: I am aware of specific rules which apply to the _city_ of Zurich, as published by the Stadtpolizei Zurich at https://www.stadt-zuerich.ch/content...ulticopter.pdf in German language).
Your best bet is to ask your _most local_ police, in this case the "Kantonspolizei Bern".

Does anyone know what issues there might be flying drones over ski resorts? I'm wondering if the rule about crowds might apply - good job there are few lift queues in Switzerland

Switzerland will follow changes in EU laws on drones, they will apply starting June 2020.
Basically, the pilot needs to register and pass an online test if the drone weighs more than 250g. Additional regulations may apply, including maximum flight height, minimum age of the pilot, and (not) having a camera on board.

As I posted in another thread, it's really hard to avoid seeing people if they happen to be in the drones line of sight..
Mine can fly for 5km, hundreds of meters high and thousands of meters away and with it's high res camera, it's very clear footage. I virtually always end up capturing somebody in the video when I'm just trying to capture the panorama etc.
Apart from that, modern drones are pretty sophisticated, it downloads a no-fly map at startup and won't take off if it's in a no-fly zone. Sure you can hack it but then you deserve all you get for that.
I think realistically it's what you do with the video that would land you in trouble.. 99% of mine just get deleted and the few minutes I keep don't invade privacy.
It's like take photos from a plane as you come into land.. That's invading privacy too..
