Dry Milk/Powdered Milk...Where Can I find it

I have never looked for it before, it might be in Coop for all I know. But, I want to make some homemade Coolwhip, so, on the hunt for dry milk. Anyone have any leads for me? Zurich or anywhere else is appreciated.

I always have seen it in the baby food section... (coop or migros)

It is available in both Coop and Migros. In Coop the packaging is a silver/blue bag (similar to the packaging material coffee beans come in - don't know what it is called) ~sfr 4 for 300g (more or less) located in the non-fridge shelves where long-life milk is displayed. In Migros it is similar price, but the packaging red/blue/silver (called Milait?) and located in the shelves with coffee beans and freeze-dried coffee and hot chocolate powders.

The dried milk in baby section is probably formula milk with extra oils etc. The ones I refer to above are plain non-fat dried milk.

In the coop, it's also near the creamer and the UHT whipping cream, and the sweetened condensed milk in tubes.

How does one make cool whip?

At the Migros it is called Rapilait, and it is by cheese section (coffee cream portions /soya milk...)

I will forward you the recipe if this dry milk works out like it does in the states.

That's the name, thanks! I almost always have a bag of one or the other at home, but cupboard "dry" for dried milk at the moment so couldn't check. I make lots of my own ice cream and frozen yogurt, dried milk powder works really well to thicken the mixture and adds creaminess w/o too much liquid.

I used to make my own yogurt too, and dry milk really helps.

Brilliant! I'd given up hope of ever finding dried milk after searching the Migros and Coop online stores and only getting baby formula.

This one is good for Western blots.

I finally found it when I stopped asking for "trockenmilch" and tried asking for "milchpulver".
