early C permit for non-EU

Hi there

I have a question that does anyone have idea that in Bern canton for the early/fast C permit track for non-EU citizenship (e.g. after 5 years instead of 10 years), the language requirement e.g. B1 is just to prove the level you already reached, right?

Meaning that you can just book a Fide test and pass it, with the certificate you get, then, it is enough, right? does not have to be mandatory that you must follow fully lanuage courses from institute A, B, C.. etc?

Thanks so much.

Wish all forum members great xmas days.

Language certificate is ONE of the requirements.

Get a certificate from one of the recognised institutes. FIDE is recognised by Switzerland.

Thanks a lot. Then, my understanding is that I can attend the *language courses* from ANY of the language institutes (e.g. even online courses or self-learning), and in the end, attending a *Fide certificate test* from one of the recognised one, right?

In short, if I can reach the level, it does not matter how to achieve that (e.g. whether from goethe language institute or online course does not matter)?

Yes. They want the certificate from a recognised institute and not where you have studied.

Absolutely. I took no courses - just bought books and re-taught myself what I had learned in school many moons ago (B2). They don't care about courses, they care about certificates.
