just wandering if there's a verson of Aargau EasyTax in other languages other than German anywhere (for 2015). This year will be the first time I'll do it by myself and my German is still.. far to be useful for tax declaration!
any suggestion (other than spend hundreds of francs for a consultant)?
Canton Zurich has a publication called "How to Fill in Your Tax Return" in English. It translates line items on the tax forms for individuals from German into English. It might also be useful for those in other cantons:
Huh? You don't know the language and you do not seem to be interested in or able to follow some simple German instructions to fill in the tax form in which case lack of basic vocabulary that can be looked up in the google translate/dictionary would do. You also don't wanna spend around CHF100 for tax consultant to file the taxes for you. What other options are you left with?
Perhaps try to go to your local financial office in the municipality you live in and inquire what forms are needed. That's what I did several years ago and the helpful lady at the counter offered me some advice in English and printed out forms to be filled in. I follow same procedure every year and send all the docs by post. If something is not correct or missing, then the Finanzverwaltung in Aarau always contacts me to submit additional documents or clarify something. I get regular tax return every year. This year either I might try the electronic system or will do the same thing following the standard routine. It's really not that complicated.
I always prefer the online tax systems as the unnecessary questions are omitted. If you don't own a forest, a house, lend money, or speculate in shares, the systems are fairly simple.
Agree on searching with Google Translate, it was the first thing I've tried, but translation of some terms is done without a (human) brain, I was needing some humint. They don't belong to a basic vocabulary, some are financial terms that for a non financial guy (in German) are obscure. With those Google is useless.
I'll use the Easytax tool, my profile is pretty simple; with the pdf from Zurich's tax dept it'll be simple (I used the same approach with other declarations looking at other kantons' notes and forms).
