Eggs thrown on window of apartment

Hi guys, I'm in an apartment block, on first floor. One of my windows of my bedroom looks onto a side road with benches outside.

I've heard people complaining about these benches area and this side of the apartments coz at night, like 3 or 4am, you get sometimes groups of youths sitting there making noise.

For the first time in my life, yesterday when I came home from work - I had eggs thrown on one window where I had left the blinds up.

What should I do? Report incident to immobile company? I have no idea how to find out who did it but would love to know

Clean it off and make a cup of tea.

Young people have been lobbing eggs at windows for centuries. Make a fuss and next time it will be bricks.

Smear a little honey, jam or ice cream on the benches. It will attract ants and deter the people you normally get at 3am - they won't want to be sitting on those benches.

We had a low wall outside my house in London where young kids used to meet up and drink after they got their booze from the off-licence. Honey and jam did the trick for a while then a higher fence where they couldn't sit on the edge was built.

Nothing.

It could just be that that egg had to land somewhere and it ended up on your window.

If it gets repeated ... well then ... only you can know why you would be an egg target for those youngsters !!!

Are you hiding anything?

Dependent on the kind of eggs.

Were they boiled?

Nope, just confronted face to face in last 2 weeks, a girl that was giving me problems and giving my g/f problems, always backbiting - so confronted her and told her if she has something to say, say it to my face - she denied saying anything

She is 29 years old

I'd hate to think a 29 year old person would do something like that but I really want to find. It's just my window that got targeted

I think egg throwing has no age limits.

Silly people can be found all the way up and down the human ladder.

Wait then, until something else happens. You've got no proof so far have you!

Stock up on some eggs, preferably the painted type as they look pretty when flying through the air and maybe 1 or 2 boiled eggs to spice it up abit, oh and a bag of flour.

Place them in easy reach of the window that was egged and wait.

When and if you hear or see another egg attack you can have a good ole fashioned egg and flour fight. We could make it an EF event

So you are about as popular in real life as you are on the forum then?

Just let it blow over.. kids will be kids

oh.... a sada passed by

Was it the gym trainer?

I'd break a couple of eggs on the bench

it might not be the kids.

You should be glad that your window was closed!

Abstain from doing so, as it by law is a punishable offence. And as the benches presumably are owned by town or Canton, it will be handled and prosecuted as a "minor crime" on a " von Amts wegen / ex officio " basis, and if the police finds you out, you will have to pay the cleaning and a fine of more than CHF 100.--, plus possibly even a recompensation for people whose clothes became dirty.

just for the record I'm nearly 29 and have thrown my fair share of eggs in my younger days. I haven't partaken in any egg shenanigans for maybe 10 years but wouldn't be opposed it should revenge be needed. Hmm in fact this may have resparked an old flame in me....

Given the Swiss propensity for passive-aggressiveness, I wouldn't put it past her...

WTF !It`s Easter

Yes please don't stoop to the level of dirtying public property. Whilst I fully understand MarieZug doing so in the extreme situation see faced this instance is so far just a one-off. It is one wonderful and valuable aspect of life in Switzerland that you can find public services clean and usable.

Do you know where the 'suspect' lives. Perhaps appeal to humour to defuse the situation and leave her a pack of Prix Garantie eggs on her doorstep?

What offense is it exactly when you by mistake drop your jam sandwich on the bench?
