I am told that it's cheaper after like 10pm/11pm....
Does anybody know if it's true? If so, what time is it and what is the price difference please? does it depend on Canton?
I browsed the website of the provider "romande-energie" and with my limited french, I didn't see any price in related to time of the day.

Hi Muffin,
I live in Gland so we have SEIC as our electricity provider. I am, unfortunately, not familiar with the exact pricing structure of romande-energie. However, I can tell you that the cost differential for electricity with SEIC night vs. day, weekend vs. weekday is HUGE. I know that by only using our washer/dryer between 10pm - 6am during the week or on the weekends I can save almost 50chf a month (granted, we do a lot of laundry here). Also, we have our hot water heater programmed to only heat from midnight to 5am and our jacuzzi to do most of its heating at night also. It is my understanding from others who live in the La Cote region that all of the electricity companies have a similar set-up. I know at the end of 2009, we received a brochure from SEIC with the updated pricing per/kw and rate schedule based upon time of day/day of week. I'm sure if you give romande-energie a call, the will have someone who speaks a little English and can explain the schedule to you.
Best,
rebecca

But you need to have the BT Double Tarifs to have it.
thanks for the advice. I guess I browsed the wrong page before. Just read it again thro' google translate.
It seems that one has to install something to enjoy the peak vs off-peak saving...and that the rate also varies by size of apartment...will keep exploring but if I could save like 50sfr /month, that would be great
cheers
