Electronic supplies - Basel?

I did a search but it appears that everything that was recommended was in Zurich or Lausanne

I am looking for something like this:

and have NO idea where in Basel I should go for it. I can rig it up myself - I just need the parts. Thoughts?

If you can't find an electronics shop using tel.search.ch or local.ch , then I suggest going online.

Conrad would be your best bet for ordering individual parts.

You may have luck at Brack too. Good luck.

Thanks for the links. I'd already looked at a few of them. The thing is, I like to go into a store and look at what's the on the shelves and was hoping to find such a store here.

*sigh*

I spent 15 years in the Pacific Northwest building up an arsenal of knowledge and sources. Now I'm here and have to start all over!

You won't find many DIY shops here, the Swiss don't do much DIY.

That's a shame. I was hoping for a Radioshack or Maplin equivalent here perhaps. Does such a shop exist in France/Germany?

Conrad (link above) is as close as you will get to a gadget/electronic DIY shop like Radio Shack. But only online in Switzerland (I believe). Have been to their store in Berlin... Huge!

Yes, and I was even hoping for the something like Harbor Freight (US) or Princess Auto (CAN) to poke around in

There are two Conrad proper electronic parts shops,

Dietlikon in Kanton Zurich Emmenbrücke in Canton Lucerne http://www.conrad.ch/ce/de/content/c...autnah-erleben

http://www.toom-baumarkt.de/angebote/wochenangebote/

Toom in Rheinfelden on the German side. Huge place for DIY.

Please read the original post before tossing unnecessary links blindly into threads. The OP is looking for electronic parts, not DIY "build you own house" store.

Maybe your Swiss don't; mine do. But they buy online.

Of course I'd enjoy having something like Radio Shack here, but a store with three employees as in our village of 680 inhabitants in Michigan would be broke within two weeks in Switzerland just because of the wages.
