You might need to do a bit of research.

Geneva is in the French speaking region.

An introduction might be useful. Tell us a bit of you in Texas and of your plans to Switzerland.

thank's jrspet. Well.... i'm a student. I meet a swiss guy here, and we become so closed until such time that he become my boyfriend. He is very close to my family and actiolly we have a plan to visit there in Switzerland one day. I'm not sure about the specific place in Switzerland his parents live at the moment but he mentioned to me that he lived at geneva before. And he was studied at Swiss federal technical university. And he also said that his German language is very bad. So i ask him what is his dialect and he said swissgerman. lol.... sorry if it's little confusing.

I don't want to ask him coz i wanted to surprise him, that I'm learning his language.

And i had found this forum in Google so i decided to joined coz i am thinking that somebody can help me here.

Thank's

Since he said his Dialec is Swiss German than he should of had high German (Hoch Deutsch) also in school as they don't teach in Dialec...(at least not here by me) but the Geneva area is French speaking, so yes his German might be very bad as they learn French and alittle German. Think you should find out if your Boyfriend speaks French, he might not of told you everything. So be careful and Good Luck! (Viel Gluck)

mesha, are you Gujarati?

hi sharkbait, what is that? Gujarati?

that would be Bernese

In Züri it rather is

Ich vermiss diich

or

Du fäälsch mer

Thank's Wollishofener. How about in swissgerman or in french?

hi sliced,

Thank's for your comment. I just talked to him earlier today and yeah he said that he speak french and swissgerman.

Seriously!

You met a guy in texas, you don't even know where he's from exactly, you don't know what language he speaks, and you're gonna try and impress him by learning French, German and all the Swiss German dialects?? And on an english speaking forum?? You're in the wrong place! Cos even if someone tells you something you won't even know how to pronounce it!

You might want to start by knowing his name and work your way from there! Cos that might actually give you an indication where he's from!

Yeah right. But now i know he speak french and swissgerman he just told me. Well......... Anyway i won't speak unless i know how to pronounce it properly, course i won't do that, for sure he will laugh. lol! I know it's quite hard for me Perhaps i will pronounce all the words like idiot.. lol i just want to have an idea about his language somehow and i want to start in writing first.

Im curious, what is your own mother tongue?

my mom is Chinese.

oh...sorry, lol... i mean i only speak English but my mom is Chinese.

Some translations anyway

"We are looking forward for your coming home here"

Mir froied ois, wänn Du da ane chunnsch

" How are you doing today?

Wie gaats Dir hütt ?

" You always take care"

Pass immer guet uf Dich uuf

" Hope to see you soon"

Bis bald

"We love you"

Mir händ Dich gern

" We will wait for you"

Mir warted uf Dich

Don't write that stuff to a Swiss person if you don't really want to be visited

Tom

One thing to note here is that OP probably won't know how to pronounce the translations, maybe it would be better if someone transliterated them to English..
