Engadiner Nusstorte recipe

Hello! I am desperately looking for a authentic recipe for a Engadiner Nusstorte using (blanched?) Almond paste! A dear friend of mine claims this is his all-time favorite dessert from when he was a child and hasn't had it in 30+ years and I am trying to make it for him

I have found various recipes on-line, but none using almond paste (which also sounds delicious to me!) and was hoping someone might have one they would be willing to share with me!

Many thanks!!

It's made with wallnuts, NOT almonds!

The one exception is this , but you will never find a recipe for it.

Tom

Thank you for your insight st2lemans!

I think my friend's recollection may be a bit fuzzy after all these years! The versions with the walnuts sound great, so it sounds as if that is what he is going to get!

~last question.... do you know if there is some Swiss torte that IS made with almond paste? He originally thought the name of it was Bundler Nusstorte (?)

Well the authentic recipe is indeed with walnuts, it's not just a variation. Perhaps the almond recipe is a variation, but I have lived in the Engadin valley for six years and I have never heard of one.

Could he have meant Bündner Pfirsichsteine? (They aren't a torte)

Marzipan is fairly common on Torten.
