English Forum on Windows 10 Edge browser.

On the forum when I write a post Windows auto-correct wants to always make non-nouns into nouns with a capital letter. Have tried all sugesstions to change this. Not working. I use German Windows.Suggestions?

What do you mean "non-nouns into nouns"? Or do you mean common nouns which don't need a capital unless at the start of a sentence (spoon, chocolate, dog) are being capitalised as if they are proper nouns?... Isn't that how German works or did I completely musunderstand my school German teachers? Can you change the language setting default? Like you can specify UK or US English?

For example this Thing . Here it has capitalized the word "Thing "

Ah, ok. Making common into proper nouns. I edited my post above. Can you change the lang setting default for spelling and grammar checks? Or just remove the autocorrect option?

I have removed the auto correct.Did not help. Its part of the Windows 10 settings. There are no such settings in Edge except for Passwords or forms. What do you mean lang setting default?

It doesn't let you disable the autocorrect? Yuck. Another strike against 10. I mean can you change the default language setting at all? So it's not German?

Don't use Edge.

I can but I want it in German. It seems that it is a known problem with windows 10 and Edge.

Ah... this will teach me to read titles. Is the problem in Windows or the browser?

Well not sure there.

there is a post about this. Sometimes the solution worked. Other times not

Seems like Windows 10 is not idiot-proof.

Better still - don’t post on EF...

The solution was this

Edge is by far the best browser out there.

Nope, not for me. I turned off the suggestions long ago and it made no difference whatsoever. Still get that irritating autocorrect/highlight stuff. I have a UK keyboard and use English, but there’s also a German language pack on the system which came with the PC. So no, doesn’t work for me.

Which solution did you use omtatsat?

Thats not correct, many tests have an another outcome.

I prefer Opera,but that's my opinion.

Enable both Turn off autocorrect... and Turn off highlight... in Group Policies. That was all. The system settings in Windows settings are now "greyed out.

I find the " font " ( print ) is much clearer in Edge. Chrome is washed out looking.

My solution was to install Windows XP on old machine
